Overview

Designed for families, the 30-acre resort with its half-mile beachfront is large enough to be lively in some areas and tranquil in others, pleasing both children and adults. Adults also enjoy a restaurant reserved for them. A reminder of the resort's former life as a sugar plantation remains in the form of a stone tower.

The resort's half-mile beach has coral-reef sections for snorkeling. Freshwater swimming is available in 10 free-form pools ranging from 40 to 150 feet long, including one for children, scattered among lodging buildings. Two spa tubs offer soaking fun. The All Inclusive Plan includes sailing, snorkeling, windsurfing, kayaking, water skiing, banana boating, tennis, squash, and golf on a 9-hole, par-3 course. Also as part of the All Inclusive Plan, the resort provides complimentary shuttle service all day for guests age 16 and older to a partner resort on the West Coast, the adults-only Almond Beach Club & Spa All Inclusive, where they may dine at restaurants and enjoy all facilities.

Driving directions from Grantley Adams International Airport: Narrow, unmarked roads and streets, numerous roundabouts, and heavy traffic along certain routes at certain times make driving through Barbados challenging. Getting there: A taxi from Grantley Adams International Airport costs $26-$35 for 1-4 passengers. (Rates are set by the government and subject to change.). Car rentals are available online. Driving is on the left side, British-style. Transportation to the airport on departure is complimentary.
