Review

Consisting of 90 acres, Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman Resort includes ample space, facilities, and services to please both active families and couples seeking R & R. Younger guests tend to congregate on the beach and at beachfront pools. Older couples seek out a large garden pool in the resort's main section across the street from the beach or book a golf-course villa in a section containing three other pools. A skybridge connects the main section to the beach.

Fine-grain sand runs 180 feet in front of the resort, part of famed Seven Mile Beach (actually 5.5 miles long). Two large pools and a 12-person spa surrounded by cushioned lounge chairs lie between the resort's beachfront buildings and the sand. One pool contains a swim-up bar. Across the street in the resort's main section and bordered by a garden are a large, three-section pool with swim-up bar and an 18-person spa. Terraced decks furnished with cushioned lounge chairs provide tranquil sunbathing. The golf-course villa section contains three more pools with adjacent spas.

Bamboo restaurant offers complimentary sushi-making lessons Monday–Thursday evenings. Participants are permitted, but not required, to eat their creations.

A health-and-beauty spa offers massage, body treatments, facials, waxing, and hair and nail care, and features "edermologie" machines to help reduce the appearance of cellulite. Hydrotherapy options include Vichy shower and steam shower. Body treatment choices include Coconut Rub and Milk Ritual Wrap, Lime and Ginger Salt Glow, and Aroma Spa Ocean Wrap. Elemis facials include Japanese Silk Booster and Aromapure. Massages include Swedish, hot-and-cold stone massage, shiatsu, and Reiki.

Camp Hyatt offers half-, full-day, and evening sessions of supervised children's activities for ages 3–12, featuring Cayman culture and excursions to kid-friendly attractions such as Cayman Turtle Farm (fees). Other facilities include a 24-hour fitness center furnished with cardio and weight machines and free weights; stores and boutiques in both the main and the beachfront sections; beauty shops in both the main and golf-course villa sections; and a 24-hour business center with Internet-connected computers (fee).
