Los Angeles Westin Bonaventure Hotel Downtown

Westin Bonaventure Hotel Los Angeles ****

Bonaventure Hotel Los Angeles is situated within the downtown financial district, connected by a pedestrian bridge on the sixth level to the World Trade Center, and two blocks from the Pacific Stock Exchange.

Larger-than-average guestrooms are bright and light with traditional furnishings, luscious woods, and warm comforters. Floor-to-ceiling windows translate into exceptional city views from most rooms.

The Westin Bonaventure - You name it, it’s here - restaurants, bars, shops, fitness center, business center, pool and sundeck, indoor jogging track; even small lakes in the lobby with dancing fountains and water-spouting ceramic frogs.

Entering this gleaming five-tower property feels like being pulled into an enormous concrete cylinder. Concrete pillars, walls, walkways - as far as the eye can see. You’ll likely feel dwarfed by the soaring central atrium, where guests zoom up and down in glass elevator tubes. The maze of staircases and escalators can be daunting, but signage helps point the way. The Westin Bonaventure is a busy, bustling place that attracts many conventioneers and business travelers. It’s been referred to as a “city within a city,” and that it is.

You’ll never go hungry with dining options that range from independently operated fast-food outlets in the busy atrium court up to the 35th floor’s Los Angeles Prime steakhouse with to-die-for-views. The pièce de résistance is BonaVista Lounge, a casual bar located on the 34th floor, which revolves 360 degrees. The atrium’s third level doubles as a jogging track, and open alcoves also feature exercise equipment for those who prefer to flex in public.

As intriguing as this mammoth property can be, you may occasionally find yourself - literally - going in circles. Make your way to the fourth floor, and duck out the glass doors between the pizzeria and the falafel place - ’ll emerge into a peaceful (and square) garden and patio area.
